Installing Novell Designer

About Novell Designer

Novell Designer for Identity Manager is a client-based tool for designing, debugging, deploying, and documenting your identity management solutions. It gives you a full view of Identity Manager in your enterprise and lets you drill down to any level of detail. The Novell Designer is available for both Linux and Windows Platforms.

The Novell Designer Tool is available for download from

On the Novell download page you will need to select the Operating System platform you will using to run Designer.

The choices are :

  • SUSE Linux

  • Windows

Once the file has finished downloading Unzip to a temporary directory and run the installation program (BIN or EXE).

The installer will launch, just follow the wizard to complete the installation. The tool-set provides a robust graphical drag and drop tool set to quickly create the relevant connector policies and provides the means to quickly deploy the relevant configurations to the Novell Identity Manager Engine.

The Novell Designer will include the following functionality:

  • enterprise modeling

  • configuration

  • project versioning and staging

  • policy management

  • integrated XML/XSLT editor

  • debugging, data simulation

  • project documentation

  • Carry projects with you -- work offline and save projects to disk.

  • Keep a project open for an extended period of time.

  • Work on multiple projects at the same time.
